KIND & Senda: #MadeToMatter Partners for "Play Kind" Campaign in Soccer
Senda brought Soccer balls in all sizes to support the "Play Kind" campaign at the Pilot Cup in Newport Beach. Team KIND and Senda Athletics were at the 2015 Pilot Cup in Newport Beach this past weekend, promoting the #PlayKind initiative. Both Send and KIND are part of the MadeToMatter collection, handpicked by Target. After "Made To Matter" brought Senda and Kind together as part of the exclusive handpicked collection by the target, we decided to team up for this soccer cup for 8-12-year-olds. This was a natural fit because both brands share the same vision to encourage players, coaches, and parents to be positive on and off the field. It was fantastic to be on the fields, encouraging young players to enjoy the game with a smile on their face, a Fair Trade ball on their feet, a healthy snack, and most importantly with good sportsmanship!

Pilot Cup participants of all ages displayed their juggling skills at the Play Kind booth. The Play Kind initiative aims to promote fair play and positive experiences for players, coaches, parents and referees. We witnessed first hand how the Play Kind initiative helped to bring about more handshakes between opponents, hugs between teammates, respect between coaches, and fair play throughout all age groups in the tournament. Parents were encouraged to proudly support their own team, while showing respect towards their opponents and the referees, and to use only encouraging words through out the tournament. While the Pilot Cup started and finished like a standard tournament with a champion crowned at the end, the winners of the cup weren't the only ones who came in first place. At the end of the tournament, KIND honored the 12 KINDest players of the tournament with a prize bag containing KIND snacks, awesome gear and Senda Fair Trade soccer balls and jerseys. The winners were chosen by the referee's and decisions were based off of the #PlayKIND campaign's characteristics for kind play.

The 12 KINDest players selected by the games' referees were each awarded a Play Kind prize bag loaded with KIND gear and a Senda Fair Trade soccer ball and jersey. Besides promoting the Play Kind initiative, Senda and KIND spread the word about the #MadeToMatter collection by Target, and shared hundreds of coupons to shop "better for you" brands part of the #MadeToMatter collection. Whether its Non-GMO, Gluten-free, Fair Trade, non-toxic or all natural, the choices we make while shopping make an impact on our people and planet, and having better convenient choices empowers everyone to make a difference for themselves and for others as well.
