Senda and Fair Trade LA: Bringing the World's First Fair Fan Zone Watch Party to Life

On July 11th, Fair Trade LA, in partnership with Senda and Fair Trade USA, hosted the World's First Fair Fan Zone, bringing fair trade and fútbol together through a FIFA World Cup watch party, a Fair Trade marketplace, and interactive activities.

More than just a place to watch the match, the event celebrated the power of fútbol to bring people together while highlighting the importance of fair trade, ethical production, and conscious consumer choices.

As the event's official sponsor, Senda was proud to help make this historic gathering possible.

Celebrating Fútbol Through Fair Trade

The Fair Fan Zone reimagined the traditional watch party by creating a space where fans could experience the game alongside organizations and businesses committed to making a positive impact.

The event featured more than 20 Fair Trade vendors representing 18 countries around the world, giving attendees the opportunity to discover ethically made products and connect directly with organizations committed to fair and sustainable trade.

Attendees enjoyed live match screenings, explored the Fair Trade marketplace, participated in interactive activities, connected with purpose-driven brands, and learned how everyday purchasing decisions can help support workers and communities around the world.

Why Senda Had an Inspirational Role in This Event

We started this company with the idea of combining our passion for playing fútbol and improving lives along the way by producing our first Fair Trade ball back in 2011. Since then, our Fair Trade product categories have expanded to dozens of specialized balls for various surfaces and high-performance shoes.

That commitment reached a new milestone with the launch of the Rosario™ and Mendoza™ Elite Firm Ground fútbol cleats, the world’s first-ever Fair Trade Certified. Senda chose the World Cup 2026 as the stage to introduce these groundbreaking cleats to the world.. Yes, no other cleats in the world have the seal certifying safe working conditions and fair wages at the factories where they are produced. These boots prove that elite performance and ethical craftsmanship can go hand in hand, setting a new standard for what players should expect from the products they wear.

The World's First Fair Fan Zone created a space where fans could celebrate the game while learning that every purchase decision has the power to support workers, strengthen communities, and help shape a more equitable sports industry.

Throughout the event, Senda's Fair Trade Certified balls and Senda Rosario™ and Senda Mendoza™ Elite Firm Ground cleats were featured across multiple activations, including the Football Skills Challenge and the event giveaway. The new Fair Trade Certified cleats generated significant excitement among attendees and created meaningful opportunities to discuss ethical production, Fair Trade certification, and the people behind the products athletes use every day.

Fútbol Can Be a Force for Good

One of the most rewarding parts of the event was seeing conversations happen beyond the match itself. Fans, families, community leaders, and ethical brands came together to explore how fútbol can create positive change—not only on the pitch, but also through the choices made behind the scenes.

"Our goal was to see whether fair trade and sport could come together in a meaningful way, and the response exceeded our expectations. People were genuinely excited to learn about Senda's Fair Trade Certified footballs and cleats, and it sparked so many great conversations throughout the day. This felt like the beginning of something bigger, and we're excited to build on what we learned as we look ahead to the LA28 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games."

Fair Trade LA

From Fair Trade products to educational experiences and community engagement, the event showed that fútbol has the power to inspire action both on and off the field.

Looking Ahead

The success of the World's First Fair Fan Zone Watch Party marks an exciting step forward for the Fair Trade movement within the global fútbol community.

Senda is honored to have played a leading role in bringing this event to life and is grateful to Fair Trade LA, the participating organizations, volunteers, and everyone who attended for helping make the day such a success. We are confident that our story can inspire other sporting goods brands to produce gear backed by Fair Trade and continue building a fairer, more sustainable future.
