Senda Celebrates Fair Trade Month!  More Than a Label: How Fair Trade Changed the Game from the Ball to the Pitch.

October is Fair Trade Month—a time to reflect on how our everyday choices shape the lives of workers and communities around the globe. In sports, equipment is often taken for granted. We lace up, step onto the pitch, and kick the ball without thinking too much about who made the gear or the conditions under which it was crafted.

  • A Fair Trade Certified Factory badge centered over a dark, moody soccer-themed background showing hands tying a Senda shoe and a soccer ball. Text at the bottom reads: FAIR WAGES | COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT | SAFE WORKING CONDITIONS | WORKER RIGHTS.

At Senda, Fair Trade isn't just a badge placed on a box—it’s the pillar of how we build products.

It Started with a Ball

Before Fair Trade footwear was even a concept in soccer, Senda set out with a simple belief: the people who make the game possible deserve to share in its progress.

Our journey began at the center of the sport—the ball. By producing Fair Trade Certified soccer and futsal balls, we ensured that the stitchers and factory workers behind every panel received fair wages, operated in safe, healthy working environments, and had access to Community Development Funds to support local needs like healthcare and education.

Every pass, volley, and goal scored with a Senda ball carried a purpose far beyond the match. But we knew that transforming the industry required taking the next step.

From the Stitching Room to the World’s First Fair Trade Cleats

For years, Fair Trade was standard for our futsal and soccer balls. Then came the ambitious question: What if high-performance footwear could meet the exact same standard?

In 2026, we turned that vision into reality by releasing the world’s first Fair Trade Certified soccer cleats—including the Senda Mendoza™ Elite FG and Senda Rosario™ Elite FG.

Creating elite-level cleats trusted by professional players on global stages shouldn't come at the cost of worker dignity. By expanding our certification to footwear, we proved that peak performance and ethical manufacturing can coexist on the grass.

Expanding Across Every Surface

Fair Trade doesn't stop at natural grass. Following our soccer cleats, we brought the same commitment to artificial turf with the Senda Mendoza™ Pro Turf and Senda Rosario™ Pro Turf models.

Whether you play on futsal courts, turf pitches, or firm ground, every touch is backed by a transparent supply chain built around:

  • Fair Compensation: Supporting equitable pay that helps workers support their families.
  • Safe Working Conditions: Enforcing rigorous safety standards across manufacturing facilities.
  • Worker Empowerment: Giving workers a voice in their facility operations and community investments.

Play with Purpose This Fair Trade Month

When you choose Fair Trade gear, your purchase goes further than the final whistle. You join a global movement that honors craftsmanship, uplifts communities, and sets a higher standard for the gear that fuels our passion.
