Senda Spotlight: A Dos Toques Cup

Senda Spotlight: A Dos Toques Cup

Futsal is currently the world's fastest indoor growing sport. Futsal is played in a five-a-side format on a smaller playing surface with smaller goal frames. Futsal is recognized for allowing soccer players to develop their skills on the smaller court which forces players to take more precise touches and quicker decisions which translate well once players apply such back onto the soccer pitch. Futsal is responsible for creating worldly recognized soccer stars such as; Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar, and many others. In Argentina, Futsal is held to the same prestige as soccer. Futsal is continuing to grow and spread as more tournaments continue to be held every year. Buenos Aires held the 2019 installment of the "A Dos Toques Cup". A tournament which is made up of 40 teams and approx 800 players. Among those 800 players, the cup had an ex-professional presence with players like Walter Erviti who plays on Boca Juniors, and on the Argentinian National team, and Leonardo Gracian who also plays on Boca Juniors. The cup has also been home to South America's most famous sports journalist and narrator, Sebastian "Pollo" Vignolo. Throughout the years' teams like Racing, River Plate, Independiente, Argentinos Jrs, Huracan, Ferro, Platense, Barracas, Estudiantes de Buenos Aires, have participated in the tournament. Among those stars, Senda was also present in this year's edition as they were proud to be the official ball sponsor of the tournament. Senda's high quality & durable futsal balls allowed the tournament to run smoothly & without any complications.  The 2019 final saw a full crowd in attendance as they saw "Camioneros" claim the title. This has been a long time coming as "Camioneros" well short in the last two finals they played in 2016 & 2017.  This year they beat "Monte Viejo" in an exciting penalty shootout. "Monte Viejo" had opened the scoring with a strike from Balbuena however "Camioneros" quickly equalized with a goal from Peloso. The game remained leveled and headed to the daunting penalty kicks.   It's important to note that futsal mostly differs from soccer in the aspect that in an average futsal match players make contact with the ball 100x times they would in a typical soccer game. Futsal forces quick touches and rapid decision making to allow build-up play to be effective.

Learn Futsal: HOW to Master the Nutmeg with Matheus Palhinha

Learn Futsal: HOW to Master the Nutmeg with Matheus Palhinha

Matheus Palhinha back once again and with yet another amazing futsal tutorial. In this video, Matheus presents and demonstrates an effective nutmeg for you to add to your artillery. Matheus does a simple initial move to engage the defender, once the defender chases, the nutmeg comes into effect. A very simple yet precise nutmeg can be useful in creating space for you on the court while also isolating the defender from the play.   Here is Matheus showing you how to perform and practice this move, step by step:     Like mentioned in blog posts before, futsal requires you to use the soles of your feet to control and move the ball. You see that again in this video as Matheus preforms the nutmeg using the sole of his foot to roll it under the defender's legs. With enough practice, this dynamic step over adds an element of flair you can use to hone your craft. The next step is to get a Senda futsal ball available on our website and start practicing this nutmeg!

Here is Matheus showing you how to perform and practice this move, step by step: A proper futsal dribble requires you to use the sole of your foot to effectively control and move the ball. Doing this ensures tight & precise control on a fast & limited playing space surface as a futsal court. Having proper control of the ball while performing a futsal dribble is vital to having success on the court. This is also really beneficial once players move onto an outdoor field. A quick and explosive futsal dribble is key for you to beat your defender. This futsal dribble, if performed correctly, can help you trick defenders effectively almost every time. The next step is to get your Senda futsal ball, available on our website, and start practicing this move!

The RCF Youth Academy program allows a diverse group of players to develop their skills, make new friends, and feel more interconnected within the community of Portland futsal and soccer fans. One of their exemplary coaches is Kody Ganiko, who has over seven years of coaching experience, focusing on ages 4-18. Senda Switch Video Blogspot: Street Soccer

Millions of people around the world play street soccer everyday, because not everybody has a grass field to play on. Senda is the leading brand in futsal, beach, and street soccer. For many people around the world, there isn’t a grass field nearby to play on and Senda is solving that problem by producing high quality durable balls meant for the streets. So, the next time you want to go out and play, #NoGrassNoProblem. Street Soccer is synonymous with the grassroots soccer movement in the United States. Throughout the soccer community, youth soccer has been suffering from the "pay to play" model. Instead of extolling values such as community, teamwork, and having fun, the mentality to win has taken precedence. Street Soccer offers a model to break through this development. You can practice your skills around your neighborhood, with your friends, and play the game we all love. While Senda is primarily a fair-trade equipment company for street soccer, at the end of the day we want to get out and play street soccer just as much as every other player out there. Featured in the video, there are many street soccer players that have developed their craft in the streets and taken their talents to the next level. Featured in the video we have Abou Traore, who has joined Cirque du Soleil for ‘Luzia.’ Traore was twenty-one when he started playing ‘fútbol freestyle.’ His interest was piqued when he watched the Cirque performers on TV and YouTube doing ‘amazing acrobatics.’ When a casting call was put out, Abou responded, “It was like a dream when I got a call back. Five years ago, I was playing street soccer on the street and the work pays,” he said. In addition, we also have Nick Rogers, who grew up in Orange County, CA and is developing a pickup/ street soccer style, also known as “Panna”. He coaches youth street soccer in Northern California, in the city of Rohnert Park. Lastly, there is Dania Cabello, a bay area native who went on to feature for Santos FC of Brazil in 2006. Working previously as a sports liberation educator, she facilitated lessons for the youth exploring the historical roots of oppression in street soccer and society. She currently teaches a methods course at St. Mary’s College exploring how to implement physical education and sports programs. Street Soccer is a blossoming sport in the United States, and Senda is excited to see the development of futsal freestyle accompanying this movement.
